The extension will remain valid as long as the road remains open and accessible, with operations continuing until snowfall blocks the route.
This announcement brings relief to thousands of devotees and trekkers planning a late-season pilgrimage to the sacred Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, and the high-altitude villages of Nabi–Gunji–Jyolingkong. Traditionally, permits were restricted due to unpredictable weather conditions towards the end of the year. The 2025 update now offers a wider travel window, allowing more pilgrims to complete their spiritual journey before peak winter sets in.
Local administrations have also advised travellers to stay updated on real-time weather alerts, as the region is prone to sudden snowfall in late November. Authorities will continue monitoring road conditions regularly, and permits may be temporarily paused if safety concerns arise.
